Bear Environmental were appointed as ecological consultants for a ground mounted solar farm site in the south of England with a 12 MW capacity respectively. From an ecological perspective the land used for a solar farm has the potential to be enhanced for wildlife. The ground beneath the panels can be used for either grazing or to benefit biodiversity such as through wildflower planting.

Providing specialist ecological advise Bear Environmental’s role was to complete a National Vegetation Classification (NVC) survey at the site, as well as delivering a site condition report to aid in the update of all management plans.
