Ecological Clerk of Works and extensive GCN translocation under regulatory license, Coventry

The site covered a 13.6 mile stretch of the M6 between junction 2 at Coventry and junction 4 Coleshill updating the M6 to an ‘all lane running’ smart motorway. Bear Environmental had a full time ECoW role with survey works for all European protected species, specifically concentrating on Red and Amber risk areas for great crested newts (GCN) and reptiles (using licence and non-licence method statements).

Our role included acting as an ‘Agent’ for this Natural England GCN license allowing a full destructive GCN search over four months and extensive translocation.
